Soccer Therapy is really juiced to debut the MLS in Vegas Series. The “MLS in Vegas” tab on this blog will be tracking money lines at the Bovada Sportsbook in 2015. Each Thursday, I’ll post a Bettor’s Advice column before the weekend action commences. Unless there is an incredible value, Wednesday games will be not be covered in this series. When the week is done, I’ll revisit my picks and track those results throughout the season. The Bettor’s Advice column will feature two regular sections, which are listed and described below. The column will offer commentary but does not reflect my official picks for the week, which will be listed very clearly at the bottom of each post.

“Stay-Away” games (RIP)

This section died in just the third week of this series when I realized that anyone with half a brain would stay away from gambling on just about all of these games! They are tough to pick and sports gambling can be about the cruelest thing in the world sometimes.

Draw Watch

It takes some cojones to bet on a draw, but the rewards are handsome as (from what I can tell) the standard money line on a draw in MLS pays +230. With two expansion clubs struggling to score three weeks into the season, 2015 is a good year to keep an eye on those lucrative draw possibilities, which pay 2-to-1 or better in most matches. Besides the above mentioned expansion clubs, Houston, Colorado and Chicago look like they could rack up a nice collection of stalemates in 2015.

The Hat-trick

Every week I’ll try to identify my most likely winners. Despite the name of this section, I won’t always be picking three winners, I’ll simply be listing the clubs that I believe have a reasonable chance at the three points. This is my MLS equivalent to Colin Cowherd’s “Blazing 5” segment, where he reveals to his listeners his top five NFL point spread picks for the week. I’ll try to include some underdogs, but unfortunately, this section will often be filled with favorites and below-even odds.
